Battle at 170.
It seems like a forgone conclusion that Brandywine Heights' Peter Renda and Bermudian Springs' Tristan Sponseller meet in the finals. Renda, a state runner-up at 152, and Sponseller, the state third-place finisher at 170, are a combined 71-1 this season.
Returning champs.
There are seven returning district champs. Korbin Myers (113) and Ryan Diehl (126) are positioned to go back-to-back, as are Robbie Moretz (152), Joey Kaufman (220) and Trevor Stover (285). Renda and Sponseller are at 170.
Tight team chase.
Five points separated Biglerville, Boiling Springs and Bermudian Springs a week ago at the Susquenita sectional. That won't change at the Hersheypark Arena this weekend, as these three teams are clearly the cream of the Class AA crop.
Best in class: 138.
Good luck trying to handicap this class. Fairfield's Wayne Wivell shocked Biglerville's Jasper Hankey 6-0 last week. Also in this bracket are Camp Hill's Alex Gallaher, Hanover's Tyler Shafer and unpredictable Bermudian Springs junior Austin Jackson.
Can anyone stop Stover?
Biglerville's Trevor Stover has been tops at 285 all season. That carried over to the postseason, as the Canners senior ran through last week's sectional bracket with three falls in 2:49. The over-under on Stover's mat time at districts is five minutes.
