Harrisburg Christian surrenders 84 points to St. John Neumann, falls in PIAA Class A boys' opener

Harrisburg Christian's boys' basketball squad got 14 points from Scott Gaffey and another 10 from Connor Shroyer, but the Knights couldn't keep up with St. John Neumann in Friday's 84-38 loss in the first round of the PIAA Class A playoffs.

The Knights trailed 24-11 after one quarter and were behind 55-21 by halftime.

St. John Neumann, also nicknamed the Knights, got 25 points from Alize Johnson and also got double-digit scoring nights from Ryan Reid (14) and Richard Allen (12). In all, 12 St. John Neumann's players dented the scoreboard.

St. John Neumann moves on the second round to face Maths, Civics and Science, an 86-41 winner over Gospel of Grace.

Harrisburg Christian, the fourth-place team out of District 3, ends its season with a 12-15 record.
