LANCASTER - Manheim Township senior gunslinger QB Brennan Scott is heading south.
The fourth-leading passer among Class AAAA quarterbacks in PIAA history has accepted a preferred walk-on offer from Old Dominion University, which will begin playing in Conference USA in 2014.
Scott, a four-year starter for Manheim Township, completed 469-of-823 passes (57 percent) for 6,941 yards with 66 touchdowns against 25 interceptions in his career.
That includes his senior season last fall, when he completed 156 of 275 passes (57 percent) for 2,327 yards and 20 touchdowns against 11 picks.

Scott's 6,941 passing yards are fourth-most in PIAA history among Class AAAA quarterbacks, behind Downingtown East's Pat Devlin (8,162 yards), Manheim Township's Pat Bostick (7,260 yards) and Wilson's Chad Henne (7,071 yards).

Scott was recruited as a quarterback and a punter by ODU.
The 6-1, 206-pounder has earned multiple all-star and all-state awards, including all-state nods at quarterback and punter, plus First-Team QB and punter awards in Section 1 of the L-L League.
Scott also took home the Elite 11 Gold Gun Accuracy Challenge national high score at a camp at Penn State.
Under coach Bobby Wilder, ODU went 7-1 in the Colonial Athletic Association and 11-2 overall last season, including a loss to Georgia Southern in the FSC playoffs.
