State College entered the Mid-Penn season as one of the top-ranked teams in the state, but the new entry was overmatched Tuesday.
And was beaten.
Soundly.
Central Dauphin sent the Little Lions packing in the Rams home opener, a 3-0 sweep that solidified Josh Brenneman's crew as one of the team's to beat this season.
Josh Donahue led the scoring blitz with 19 kills, three blocks and seven digs. Jacob Kerschner dished out 13 assists and also chipped in four kills and four digs.
Cumberland Valley 3, CD East 2: The Panthers pushed the Eagles to the wire in this Commonwealth tilt before dropping a 15-10 Game 5 decision. Chanz Anderson and Kevin Ha each had 12 kills in the loss.
