HS Baseball Friday night highlights: Northern lands hard against pitcher Anthony Atticks, Susquehanna Twp.

DILLSBURG -- On the strength of right-hander Anthony Atticks and the pop of GeoTorres, Susquehanna Twp. downed Mid-Penn crossover foe Northern 12-4 Friday in Dillsburg.

Torres went 5-for-5 while Atticks, who didn't allow a earned run and struck out nine in a complete-game, helped his cause with four runs batted in.

Northern's eight errors did lead to 10 unearned runs by the Tribe, but Torres & Co. did charge 11 hits to Northern starter Anthony Salomone. The latter pushed across two runs in the loss. The Indians fired the knockout blow with an eight-run sixth. Dallas Rivera added three hits and two runs scored for Matt Rau's crew.

South Western 6, Greencastle-Antrim 2: At King's Playground, Parker Bean supplied (3-for-4) supplied the Mustangs lumber and Chris Mills took care of the rest. Bean, finishing a home run shy of the cycle, scored twice and walked Mills spin five solid innings. The Devils did total 10 hits, including two each by Adam Moore, Danny Stepler and Ashtin Byers, but it wasn't enough.

Harrisburg Christian 14, Carson Long 4: Connor Shroyer helped wall off the Warriors with four hits, six RBIs and a four-pack of stolen bases. Teaming with Josh DelDuco (2-for-4) and Cal Sanelli (three runs), Shroyer also grabbed the win in relief of starter Noah Lenker.

Daniel Boone 7, Waynesboro 5: The Indians were foiled by four errors and Daniel Boone's two-run sixth which snapped a 5-all deadlock. A Cole Warrenfeltz RBI triple and two RBIs from Alex Cline couldn't pull Waynesboro past the non-conference visitor.

Tri-Valley League

East Juniata 16, Juniata 0: Making all the noise in this stiff rivalry was East Juniata pitcher Nick Lorenz and his catcher Ryan Stuck. It helped that Juniata was wrapping up 10 walks and five errors, as well. Lorenz, however, was sharp in the four-inning no-hitter. He struck out 10 against three walks. Stuck's triple helped opened the gates to a nine-run second inning. EJ banged 16 hits in all.

Upper Dauphin 15, Greenwood 1: The Trojans cracked off leads of 5-0 and 13-0 as Tanner Miller steered the way. Miller stroked three hits in four plate appearances, handing pitcher Ian Buffington a short work session. Mitch Taylor's 2-for-3 afternoon led Greenwood.

Line Mountain 15, Lancaster Country Day 5: Cory Warford parlayed five solid innings and six strikeouts into a 10-run victory. Warford only allowed three walks and saw Britton Heim, JP Lenker and Austin Snyder plate a few of those runs with doubles.Tom Harrington homered for LCD.

Newport 6, Millersburg 3: Buffs pitcher Cole Bower stretched the distance, striking out eight, and Newport capitalized on four Millersburg miscues. Aaron Ehrhart's RBI double helped Bower secure the win.

Bible Baptist 8, Berks Christian 7: Merritt Raup and Ethan Derliunas got the Bobcats off to a fine CCAC season. Derliunas smashed a two-run homer, Raup a solo blast, and the latter worked four frames to pocket the win. Mitch Raup added two RBIs while his brother fanned eight before handing off to Drew Ehrich in the fifth. Ehrich recording the final out with a Berks Christian runner on third.

Lancaster-Lebanon

Annville-Cleona 10, Columbia 0: Justin Ulrich went 2-for-2 and scored three Dutchmen runs while Coby Brightbill and game-winning pitcher Braden Elliott chipped in two RBIs apiece. Elliott only needed 61 pitches, 43 for strikes, to collect a one-hitter with five strikeouts. Nat Hughes also popped a pair of hits and scored a run in the five-inning affair.

Pequea Valley 7, Lebanon Catholic 0: Dylan Beiler took the lead in this Section 4 showdown, firing a no-hitter and throwing a 3-for-3 performance at the Beavers. Beiler fanned seven and was backed up his catcher, Mitch Stoltzfus, who knocked in a pair of runs during his three-hit outing. LC hurler Chris Decker shouldered the loss despite nine strikeouts and just three earned runs allowed.

McCaskey 4, Cedar Crest 1: The Falcons had a difficult time against game-winning pitcher James Hartman. Hartman and reliever Miguel Torres, who entered in the seventh, stopped Cedar Crest on four hits. Rodney Rodriguez added two RBIs and Torres two hits behind Hartman.

Conestoga Valley 8, Lebanon 7: Despite a three RBIs and a blast by Mark Pyles, Lebanon couldn't stop Conestoga Valley from plating three runs in the bottom of the seventh. Gavin High, Kelvin Reyes, Zach Rider and Tyler Williams all cleared two hits for CV. Pyles added two runs in the loss.
