After an impressive 21-8 win over Lower Dauphin on Tuesday, the Cumberland Valley girls' lacrosse team continued its pristine run through Mid-Penn Conference play.
But in order to capture the Commonwealth Division title and a berth in the Mid-Penn final, the Eagles need one more victory. CV hosts Northern on May 7 to close out league play.
CV's closest challenger, State College, trails by one game with one game remaining in league play. The Little Lions host Carlisle on Thursday.
If SC wins Thursday and CV loses to Northern, a one-game playoff for the Commonwealth title would take place May 9.
Speaking of a division title playoff, it appears that's where we're headed in the Keystone Division. Lower Dauphin (6-3) played its final league game on Tuesday and holds a half game lead on second place Hershey (5-3).
The Trojans, who fell to State College Tuesday, hosts Chambersburg on May 7. A win by Hershey would force a playoff with LD on May 9. As a result, the Mid-Penn final would be played on May 11.
