LCC (12-5) will take on second-seeded York Catholic (12-8) in York.
Before Thursday's suspension, Newport rode three hits by Tanner Wood, who collected two RBIs, and two hits by Mason Arbogast to stay cut into the Cougars lead. With only a handful of outs remaining on Friday, the Buffs (15-7) failed to overcome the deficit.
