LANCASTER - If you're a prep pigskin fan, it's that time again:

Summer workouts and 7-on-7 competitions.

And - for the fourth year in a row - a competition for the big uglies in the trenches.

Manheim Central is set to host the 4th Roadgraders Challenge on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Elden Rettew Field.

The event, which is run by Barons' o-line coach Dave Hahn, continues to grow.

Hahn said he has 16 schools and 26 5-man teams set to compete on Saturday.

That's up from eight and 12 schools competing in the first two years of the event, which includes:

Team hex bar deadlift, team bench press, 5-man sled drive, obstacle course, sled drive and hand-over-hand sled pull, 10-yard two-man sled relay, Farmers Walk relay, agility drills, tractor tire flip and tug of war - all for interior lineman and tight ends.

Cost for a 5-man team - comprised of players who are PIAA eligible for the 2013 season - is $100.

If you're interested in competiting, contact Hahn ASAP for details.

As in previous years, the event will benefit an area person in need; this year, proceeds from the event will go to Cedar Crest's Levi Hains, a 7-year-old who is battling Duchennes, a form of Muscular Dystrophy.
