SHIPPENSBURG -- CD East rookie head coach Aaron Blanding went with two quarterbacks in Friday's 23-7 win over Shippensburg.

For the foreseeable future, it's going to be commonplace for the Panthers.

Brandon Ross and Justis Jacobs each played a half during the opening week title at Memorial Park. Both QBs played relatively well as Ross was 9-for-17 for 104 yards and a touchdown, while Jacobs was 1-for-3 for 40 yards. His lone completion was a 32-yard touchdown pass to wideout Joe Lemelle in the third quarter.

"Both guys did a really good job," Blanding said.

"We're going to keep working both of them day in and day out and we're not going to rush it. We'll see how both guys look in practice and we might not know until Wednesday in practice who the starter is going to be."

Ross's TD pass to Raekwon Purdy in the first half was a screen out to the left side. Purdy received a wall of blocking, then used his speed to break down the sideline for the game's first touchdown.

Jacobs hooked up with Lemelle immediately after the Panthers' defense forced one of seven turnovers. Jacobs threaded the needle down the seam where Lemelle came up with the nice catch.
