DALLASTOWN AT PENN MANOR
FRIDAY, 7 P.M. AT MILLERSVILLE UNIVERSITY

RECORDS: Dallastown 2-0; Penn Manor 2-0

THE WILDCATS: Red-hot start for Dallastown, which knocked off Lancaster Catholic 21-6 in Week 1 before drubbing West York 35-0 last Friday. Wildcats had the passing attack going in Week 2; QB Andrew Henry went 9-for-13 for 198 yards and 2 TD, and he hit Malik Lewis 5 times for 151 yards and a score. Dallastown also piled up 172 rushing yards; Robert Catchings went for 120 yards and 2 TD. All that after holding Lancaster Catholic to 138 yards in Week 1. Coach Kevin Myers returned 13 starters from a team that went 4-7 last year. But these Wildcats have been playing like gangbusters out of the gate.

THE COMETS: Hello, Charles Bell. What a monster start for Penn Manor’s RB-LB, who has rushed for 205 yards and 4 TD and caught 10 passes and 155 yards and 2 TD; he leads the L-L with 6 total TD, as the Comets are cranking out 407 yards per game — third-best in the league. Penn Manor’s D, with Bell right smack dab in the middle of the action with a team-best 20 tackles and 1 1/2 sacks, is third-best in the L-L, giving up just 160 yards per game; the Comets have yielded just 148 rushing yards. Speaking of rushing, when Bell isn’t bowling over people, scatback LeVonta Jones has dashed his way to a league-leading 250 yards and 2 TD, giving Penn Manor quite the 1-2 punch backfield. Plus, newbie QB Tanner Erisman has been quite efficient (24-of-34 for 272 yards, 2 TD, no INT).

THE CRUX: Dallastown’s trio of playmaking LBs — Drew Romesberg (22 tackles), Jonah Mays (20 tackles, 1 sack, 1 fumble recovery) and Nick Sutton (11 tackles, 1 blocked FG) — against the Bell-Jones/thunder-lightning attack. Penn Manor has a lot of weapons; can the Wildcats defend all of them?

REINHART SAYS: Intriguing matchup here; a District 3 Class AAAA playoff preview, perhaps? Bottom line: Penn Manor (-3) has Bell. And he’s been impossible to stop — on either side of the ball.
