The Thundering Herd 3-2 (2-1) host rival and conference leading Cumberland Valley Friday night, in a game that could be for first place in the division. CV (3-0) currently sits in a tie with CD East (3-0), those two conference leaders meet Wednesday night at CV.
Carlisle can't afford to look ahead to CV with the Mifflin County Huskies 2-2 (1-2) coming into Gene Evans Gymnasium Wednesday night. Mifflin County is coming off of a 59-53 win over defending conference champion Harrisburg, they also dropped a 60-56 decision to Cumberland Valley, a game that they led in the 4th quarter.
Carlisle is coming off of back to back conference wins, 74-50 over Chambersburg, and 66-23 over State College, the Herd appears to be clicking on all cylinders. Offensively the Huskies are led by Sr. Curtis Jerzerick (13.8 ppg), and Sr.Hunter Wright (12.8 ppg).
The Herd is led by Sr. Jordan Dockens (23.8 ppg) and Sr. Timmy Atkinson (12.4 ppg). These teams split last years two meetings, each winning at home. The winner of this game puts itself in position to make a run in what appears to be a wide open Commonwealth Division. JV tips off at 6pm, Varsity at 7:30.
