Now that the holiday break is over, several midstate girls’ basketball players will be resuming their chase for 1,000 career points scored.
The first local player to hit that milestone should be West Perry senior Megan Smith, who is sitting on 994 points.
The Mustangs’ game against East Pennsboro on Friday was postponed, so Smith’s next shot at a grand will be Tuesday at Milton Hershey.
Here are the midstate players closing in on 1,000 points …
Megan Smith, senior, West Perry — 994 points
Alex Siebecker, senior, Annville-Cleona — 885 points
Megan Seibert, senior, Columbia — 812 points
Danielle Atkinson, senior, Lancaster Catholic — 810 points
Cheyenne Hassler, senior, Elco — 808 points
Marissa Gingrich, senior, Cocalico — 794 points
* Elizabethtown senior Jen Fairbanks (660) is closing in on 700.

Am I missing anyone? If any other midstate girls' basketball players are approaching the 1,000-point milestone, please contact me so I can track their points. Thanks.
