Ian Hanselman is Ivy-bound.
Manheim Central’s senior football standout confirmed via social media on Saturday that he’s committed to Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, where he’ll play for the Big Green.
Dartmouth went 5-2 in the Ivy League and 6-4 overall this past season under coach Buddy Teevens.

Hanselman had a dynamite senior campaign, helping Manheim Central go 10-0 during the regular season, win the L-L Section 2 title and advance to the District 3-AAA championship, where the Barons fell to eventual state runner-up Bishop McDevitt and finished 13-1 overall.
Hanselman came up big on both sides of the ball for the Barons.
From his running back spot on offense, the 6-1, 220-pounder carried 148 times for 1,193 yards and 20 touchdowns. He averaged 8 yards per carry, and also caught five passes out of the backfield — two for touchdowns.
From his linebacker spot on defense, Hanselman piled up 93 total tackles, had 4 ½ sacks, picked off a pass and forced a fumble for Manheim Central.
He was handsomely rewarded for his exploits when the all-star nods were announced:
Hanselman was named an L-L Section 2 first-team all-star at running back, and he was a second-team pick at inside linebacker.
He also earned a Mini Max Award from the Maxwell Football Club.
Next stop for Hanselman, the Ivy League.
