Not a particularly busy night on midstate girls' basketball courts on Monday.

But a few key games were contested:

* Susquenita edged Camp Hill 43-42 and West Perry topped East Pennsboro 62-42 as the Blackhawks and Mustangs remained within shouting distance of front-runner Middletown in the Mid-Penn Capital race.

* Palmyra dropped Red Land 60-22 as the Cougars remained alone in second place in the wildly entertaining Mid-Penn Keystone chase.

* Mechanicsburg, the outright leader in the Keystone, was in action Monday, topping Waynesboro 54-19 in a nonleague game.

* Hershey remained hot, winning for the eighth time in nine games compliments of a 48-35 Keystone win over Susquehanna Township, which had its 3-game winning streak snapped.

* And two intriguing nonleague finals: Delone Catholic, No. 2 in the latest District 3-AA power rankings, held off Gettysburg 39-31, and in Monday's lone L-L League game, Ephrata, the reigning Section 2 champ, knocked off Section 3 outright leader Elco 37-22.
