Three of the four Mid-Penn girls’ basketball races are engraved in stone.
Cumberland Valley has sewed up its second Commonwealth title in a row.
Middletown has won its first Capital crown.
Greencastle-Antrim — the lone undefeated team in the Mid-Penn — won its first Colonial championship.
Everyone else is waiting for the Keystone winner to fill out the conference playoff bracket.
Mechanicsburg (14-1) topped Susquehanna Township 50-28 on Friday to maintain its 1-game lead over Palmyra (13-2), which took care of Trinity 44-35.
So the Keystone scenario is pretty simple:
If Mechanicsburg wins at home on Monday vs. Lower Dauphin, the Wildcats lock up the crown.
If LD springs the upset, and if Palmyra can beat neighbor Hershey at home on Tuesday, there would be a tie.
Cumberland Valley will take on Greencastle-Antrim in one conference semifinal on Feb. 11 at Big Spring.
Middletown is awaiting the Keystone champ for the other semi, set for Feb. 11 at Cumberland Valley.
