Bishop McDevitt junior Tesia Kempski got herself ready for the upcoming high school track and field season with a sixth place finish in the pole vault at Friday's New Balance Indoor Championships at The Armory in New York City.

Kempski, a fourth place finisher in the District 3-AA meet and a PIAA qualifier in 2013, cleared the bar at 11 feet, 7 inches to advance to the medal podium at this USA Track and Field event.

Smith, who hones her vaulting skills in Camp Hill with VaultWorX, was one of three VaultWorX team members to finish inside the top 35. Club teammate Erin Smith finished second in the competition.
