LANCASTER - Former Donegal ace lefty Darin Gorski has been added to the New York Mets 40-man roster, according to multiple media outlets.
The former Kutztown University pitcher went 9-8 with a 4.00 ERA for Class AA Binghamton this past season, with 118 strikeouts in 24 starts.
Gorski was a seventh-round pick by the Mets in 2009.
The Mets added several players to their 40-man roster on Tuesday so they didn't lose them as Rule 5 Draft picks.
When Gorski won pitcher-of-the-year honors in 2011 he went 11-3 with a 2.08 ERA for St. Lucie, New York's High-A club. He was also named the Florida State League Pitcher of the Year in 2011.
