While Hershey’s Dylan Painter undoubtedly was one weary youngster after playing five consecutive days of AAU basketball games in two ridiculously competitive age groups, the 6-9 junior forward received some good news … and some not-so-good.
According to City of Basketball Love’s Josh Verlin, Painter has picked up a scholarship offer from Division I Lafayette College in Easton. Fran O’Hanlon’s Leopards finished 11-20 last season, 6-12 in the Patriot League.
Painter now has scholarship offers from Holy Cross, Boston University, La Salle and Lafayette. Only La Salle does not call the Patriot League home.
As for the not-so-good news — also flashed by Verlin — Painter has a stress fracture in one of his feet that will shut him down for four weeks and cost him the chance to play for Team Pennsylvania at the Fab 48 Event in Las Vegas.
Tweeted Painter earlier today: “Good luck to @Team_PA16 in Vegas. Wish I could be there.”
