On hand for the Mid-Penn Conference's football media day Tuesday at Cumberland Valley High School, second-year CD East head coach Aaron Blanding and several of his players, Joe Lemelle and Quintin Smith, take a few minutes to talk about the rapidly approaching football season.
Blanding piloted the Panthers to a 7-5 record in 2013 — his first in charge — that included a run to the District 3-AAAA quarterfinals. East also finished Mid-Penn Commonwealth Division play with a 4-3 mark, numbers that snared the Panthers a share of third place.
All three weigh in on the balanced effort that's going to be needed since 2,000-yard rusher Chase Edmonds has moved on to the next level and is sporting a Fordham jersey and helmet.
