A two-way star for the Cougars, Robert Martin continues to pile up ridiculous rushing numbers in the second half of this season. His latest display was a District 3-AAAA quarterfinal record 360 yards in the wild 48-27 victory over Cumberland Valley.
Martin carried the ball 26 times and scored three touchdowns. In the first quarter all six of his carries covered 12 or more yards and he totaled 175 of that 360 in the opening eight minutes.
Martin has 1,639 yards for the season on only 119 carries. His average is an off-the-charts 13.8 per carry.
Martin and the Cougars continue their District 3 tournament run Friday night against Central Dauphin. The contest is a rematch of an overtime thriller earlier this season, in which the Rams rallied late for a 24-21 overtime win.
