Electrically charged Kareem Oden chalked up a double-double as Emmanuel Baptist clipped visiting Northumberland Christian 65-56 in boys' basketball action Tuesday night in Mechanicsburg.
Despite standing just 5-9, Oden exploded for 39 points and yanked down 12 rebounds to pace an Emmanuel Baptist side (2-2) that zipped to a 38-26 at the break.
Tyrece Little, a 5-11 eighth grader, collected 10 boards to go with his eight points. Tim Kile and Collin Reeves split another 16 points for Dan Glass' high-octane outfit.
Nathan York (13), Daniel Severn (12) and Gabriel Bahner (10) shared 35 points for Northumberland Christian, which trailed by just a deuce (46-44) when the fourth quarter began.
Another Oden-authored salvo, however, allowed the Patriots to regain a comfortable lead and put this thing away.
