The big picture: Like Staver, Larry Strawoet is back after a lengthy (five-year) hiatus as head coach. “Not sure the love of coaching ever left my system,” says the man who was behind the Rockets’ many successes last decade. His son, Grant, is among the senior group that ate up major minutes through last season’s struggles, and it might be time to twist those struggles into victories. At least one Colonial coach thinks JB could already be capable of competing for the crown. At the very least, we predict notable improvements.
