BOYS' BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK (Dec. 7-15)
Jonas Page, Susquehanna Twp., 6-6 senior forward
About Page: High expectations exist always at the Progress Ave. school, and the Indians senior swing man has helped his squad achieve a solid start to carrying out those expectations.
Susquehanna Twp. is off to a 4-0 start against stellar competition, and the versatile Page is a big reason why.
He sank four 3-pointers and scored 20 points in a tip-off victory over Steel-High, then drilled a couple of more 3-pointers in a tournament championship victory over Central Dauphin.
Page followed with 22 points, including the game-winning bucket with 15 seconds left, in a two-point Mid-Penn Keystone triumph over Bishop McDevitt, then added 15 more (13 in the second half) in a tight divisional victory over Cedar Cliff.
He is undoubtedly helped by a strong supporting cast, but teams need important buckets. And the senior Page has quickly shown a tendency to produce those clutch points.
