Central Dauphin's Garrett Peppelman fought off Cumberland Valley's TC Warner in the 160-pound semifinal round of the Beast of the East wrestling tournament.
There was no score until early in the second period when Warner turned a reversal. Peppelman was able to escape towards the end of the second period to make it 2-1.
Peppelman chose down to start the third and was awarded a point when Warner locked hands. The Rams junior slipped out of Warner's grasp with 25 seconds left in the match for a reversal and a 4-2 victory.
Peppelman, the 152-pound PIAA champion a year ago, will face McDonogh's Myles Martin in the 3 p.m. final.
Also making the finals was Trinity's Ryan Diehl.
The Maryland recruit escaped to start the second period against North Bergen's Anthony Giraldo and was able to ride him out the entire third period to preserve a 1-0 victory.
Diehl will square off against Christiansburg's Joey Dance in the finals.
Central Dauphin's Tyson Dippery and Cumberland Valley's Patrick Duggan lost semifinal matches at 138 but battled back and will wrestle for third place.
The Rams' Austin Rose will also wrestle for third at 145, as will Warner at 160. Chambersburg's Garett Hammond gets a shot at third-place in the 152-pound bracket. Cedar Cliff's Chris Vassar and the Rams' Colton Peppelman are still alive in consolations.
