If you've been waiting to tear the tags off that new pink sweater or scarf, tonight's quadruple header at Palmyra High School would be the perfect place to unveil your new duds.

The Cougars boys and girls basketball teams will host Mid-Penn Keystone rival Trinity tonight, and representatives from each school are taking this opportunity to raise awareness and support breast cancer research.

The “Pink Games” will begin with junior varsity battles at 3:30 and 5 p.m., following by the girls varsity at 6:30 p.m. The boys varsity game will begin at approximately 8 p.m.

Local businesses have shown their support by providing teams and coaches with various pink accessories in order to show their support for the cause.

ELCO PRESSING ON: Elco secured a pretty important victory recently, knocking off L-L Section 3 rival Northern Lebanon 44-37. What the victory did was slide the Raiders (12-8, 9-5) within one game of the Vikings (13-7, 10-4) in the race to secure the league's final tournament bid.

Plus, Elco now owns the tiebreaker by completing the season sweep. We mentioned Northern Lebanon's plight last week, the loss of starters Emily Brandt and Morgan Phillips to season-ending ACL injuries. It got worse when Mariah LiBrandi went down with foot injury last Friday.

The Raiders injury report includes senior guard Kady Yoders (knee). Yes, life in the L-L can be difficult.

PRIME-TIME SATURDAY: Three leading members of the Commonwealth Division will stocked talent from outside the Mid-Penn Conference on Saturday. And with a little giddy-up, you can watch them all.

Beginning at 1 p.m., CD East (15-4) hosts Class AAAA power-rating No. 2 Wilson (17-2) along Rutherford Road. The party continues at Cumberland Valley's Dome Gym, where the host Eagles (15-4) take on Parkland (14-3) at 3 p.m.

A few hours later, Class AAA power West York travels to Central Dauphin (15-4) for a 6:30 p.m. match. If you're really fast, that 5 p.m. Colonial scrum between Boiling Springs and host Gettysburg (14-4, 9-2) has promise, too.

The Bubblers (13-5, 8-2), who dropped a nine-point decision to Gettysburg just days before Christmas, need a victory to regain a share of the division lead entering the final week.

SPOTLIGHT ON A-C: With recent victories over Pequea Valley and Lancaster Mennonite, skipper Jamie Walborn and Annville-Cleona achieved a little history by qualifying for the L-L tournament for the first time since 2005-06.

It speaks to the hard work by standouts Alex Siebecker, Elaina Wanamaker, Kayla Parks, Meredith Bachman and the rest of Walborn's crew. And here's the skinny on those eight losses this season.

Did you know those setbacks came to programs with a combined record of 127-27? That number includes two battles with L-L 4 kingpin Lancaster Catholic (19-0), Steel-High (17-2), Lampeter-Strasburg (18-1) and Pine Grove (17-2).
