Ryan Kerstetter and Greenwood retain the top spot in our District 3-A rankings. - (PennLive.com file, 2012)

Here's our updated and abbreviated District 3-A boys' basketball rankings for the 2012-13 season. Records through Feb. 5. This has nothing to do with power ratings. It's just our view of the top 5.

1. Greenwood (17-3) -- last week: 1 -- Yes, the Wildcats' lengthy Tri-Valley League winning streak was ended by East Juniata, but Kent Houser's group is still about to clinch a fifth straight league title.

2. Lebanon Catholic (15-7) -- last week: 2 -- Hit a few bumps near the end of the regular season, but the Beavers are battle-tested from a tough L-L Section IV and will be more than a handful in districts.

3. New Hope Academy (16-3) -- last week: 3 -- Pounded last week in a major test against Berks Catholic. Not that we hold that against the Mighty Ants, because the Saints deliver quite a few poundings throughout the season.

4. Mount Calvary (17-5) -- last week: 5 -- Handled CCAC West rival Bible Baptist the second time around, and the Chargers earned a share of the division championship. The hottest CCAC team entering the postseason.

5. Bible Baptist (16-6) -- last week: 4 -- With head coach Lowell Kratzer battling some health issues, it's been a testy couple of weeks. But the Bobcats still get a piece of the CCAC West crown, and the Raup brothers still lead a solid group on the floor.
