This Friday, West Perry visits James Buchanan for Week 7 of Mid-Penn Colonial Football. Read on to see why I think the Mustangs should have no problem in keeping the Rockets from taking off on their home field.
The Two Sides:
James Buchanan: 10 interceptions, 50 penalties for over 300 yards, and an overall lack of offense has marred the Rockets’ season thus far. Additionally, with only 1 interception and zero fumble recoveries for their defense, the Rockets stand at -9 in the turn over differential. James Buchanan has struggled to get any momentum going for their offense. As of right now, they are only averaging about 187 yards per game. Look for the home team to try to get some offense going to match the points put up by the Mustangs versitile offense.
West Perry: After recent wins over Big Spring and Greencastle-Antrim, the Mustangs are on a roll. They have scored five touchdowns in each of their last two games, and feel confident aboout making that streak continue against the Rockets. Senior quarterback Zach Smith has been on fire this season, he has 10 total touchdowns and over 1,100 total yards. Smith also leads the team with 517 rushing yards followed by senior running back, Kurtis Rider with 380 yards.
Prediction:
With a win over James Buchanon, West Perry would come close to clinching a spot in the district playoffs. If James Buchanon pulls off the upset, it would mean they would get their first win of the season.
When the smoke clears, and the game clock reads 0.0, my prediction is that the Mustangs will improve their record to 5-2 with a 38-17 win over the Rockets.
