Gettysburg has been one of the hottest teams in District 3 during the second half of the girls' basketball season, winning 11 of its last 12 games.

There are many reasons for this, of course, but one of them is senior point guard Ellen Bair.

Bair has been setting up teammate Cami Boehner (20.4 ppg) all season, but has also found time to average 7.4 points per game herself.

She stepped up in the Warriors' 46-37 win over Elco in the District 3-AAA Round of 16 on Tuesday night, picking up 12 points.

Now Bair and Gettysburg will face Big Spring in Saturday's quarterfinals, the fourth meeting this year between the Warriors and Bulldogs. The contest is 3 p.m. at Milton Hershey.

Coming into this season, what were your goals for yourself? Do you feel like you have met them?

A major goal for me was to be the best leader I could be. We only had two players back with a lot of experience, so I needed to lead. I needed to be solid every night as the point guard. If I have a bad night, it lets the whole team down.

With a division title and a playoff win already, how many of the team goals have you and your teammates met so far?
Definitely winning in the playoffs was a goal for us. A lot of people thought of us as an underdog, although I didn't. One goal we did not achieve was doing undefeated in the division like we did the last two years. But winning the division again was awesome, and being in the the Mid-Penn tournament was a fun experience.

You have a fourth meeting coming up with Big Spring in the District 3-AAA quarterfinals on Saturday. Do you consider the Bulldogs to be your rival?
I'm not sure if "rival" is the right word for it. If I could pick a team other than us [to succeed] it would be them. I respect their coach and I respect their players.

Is there any way either team can surprise the other in a fourth contest?
They've played the same style and the same defense the last three times. But I wouldn't be surprised if they throw something new at us. Last time I felt we dominated the tempo of the game, so it wouldn't surprise me.
