Cumberland Valley 3, Cedar Cliff 2: The Eagles earned their tally in the first, riding two hits each by Hunter Schryver and Mike Adams. The latter also picked up the save in relief of starter Mitchel Lacey. Lacy fanned six and dished out just three hits, outdueling Cedar Cliff ace Stephen McKee.
State College 5, Central Dauphin 0: Ace Nick Raquet was his usual, stingy self Monday along Piketown Road. The Little Lions hurler spun a complete-game three-hitter with 12 strikeouts. Raquet walked three on his 118-pitch performance. Two RBIs by Caleb Walls and another from Tanner Witter was enough to outpunch the shaky Rams. Central Dauphin committed seven errors in all.
Chambersburg 4, Mifflin County 3: A failed squeeze attempt by the Huskies and seven competitive frames by pitcher Andrew Shreiner lifted Chambersburg. Clinging to that one-run lead in the seventh, Chambersburg watched Evan Pupo (4-for-4) tag a one-out triple. Seconds later, Shreiner threw wide to nail Pupo at the plate. Shreiner, who struck out four, and teammate Colby Dice cracked two hits apiece.
CAPITAL
East Pennsboro 12, Milton Hershey 9: East Pennsboro turned in five triples, one apiece by Cody Hollingsworth, Chase Shulda and Jake Nieto, in the wild victory. Hollingsworth led the assault, going 3-for-4, while Shulda and Nieto both drove in a run. The Spartans came all the way back from a 6-0 deficit but failed to counter East Pennsboro's three-run fourth.
TRI-VALLEY
Upper Dauphin 12, Millersburg 0: Mac Ney fashioned a three-hitter for the Trojans, who also used home runs by Matt Deitrich and Kyle Glouner to thwart the Tribe. Glouner's solo jack came in UD's three-run second while Dietrich ripped his two-run blast in the third. Glouner also chipped in a two-run double. Casey Wise was 3-for-3 with two RBIs for UD.
Line Mountain 15, Juniata 12: An old fashioned slugfest broke out in Mifflintown as Brady Michael (3-for-4), Cory Warford (3-for-4) and Britton Heim (3-for-3) paced Line Mountain's 17-hit explosion. Michael collected three RBIs and Heim three runs to help offset a pair of home runs by Juniata sluggers Dahkota Sweitzer and Ty Treaster. The Indians scored at least one run in all seven innings but it wasn't enough. Sweitzer's two-run shot came in the third, pulling the Indians to within 7-5.
Halifax 16, East Juniata 6: Joe Raker had a monster day for Halifax, tagging four hits with two RBIs. Trey Pritchard and Kaleb Reitz chipped in three hits apiece as Halifax produced 14 runs in the first three innings. Raker added a two-run jack in the fourth. Bailey Coder's solo home run highlighted East Juniata's five-run second.
Lancaster Country Day 14, Greenwood 4: Sy Williams had a LCD day to remember, claiming a complete-game victory and tossing in a pair of home runs against Greenwood. Tom Harrington, the other half of Cougars battery, also homered for the third time this season. Williams chalked up five RBIs in all while Jack Wege added three hits.
OTHERS
Mechanicsburg 15, Red Land 6: The Wildcats erupted for seven runs in the bottom of the second and eventually handed Red Land its first loss of the season. Joe Hennessy ripped three hits and scored three runs for the Cats, who hold the Patriots scoreless in the final four frames. Andrew Spanos added four RBIs, and Bobby Mentzer (2-for-2) three RBIs, during Mechanicsburg's 13-hit attack.
Steel-High 11, Bible Baptist 6: Mitch Filmore belted a three-run homer and Cam Albert (2-for-4) scored a pair of runs for the Rollers. Filmore picked up four RBIs on the afternoon, which aided four blue-collar innings by reliever Max Salov. Merritt Raup tripled home three runs in the Bobcats' five-run fourth inning.
Greencastle-Antrim 17, Camp Hill 1: The Lions were burned by Blue Devil hurlers Myles Gayman and Jake Crist, who combined in a two-hit gem. In addition, Eric Shaner's crew rang up 14 hits, including three by Hunter Szaflarski (two triples) and two apiece by Ashtin Byers (two RBIs) and Adam Moore. Danny Stepler and Crist, who relieved Gayman in the fourth, shared seven runs batted in.
Gettysburg 12, Susquehanna Twp. 11: Visiting Susquehanna Twp. Took a seemingly safe 11-7 lead into the seventh before Gettysburg answered with five runs. The Warriors outhit the Tribe 19-5 and somehow survived six errors. Dan Heiges and Justin Martin belted run-scoring doubles to aid Graham Herrick's last-minute decision. Herrick fired 2 1/3 scoreless innings with a pair of strikeouts.
LANCASTER-LEBANON
Cedar Crest 5, Penn Manor 1: Hurler Conor Bawiec stumped the Comets with 12 strikeouts in six innings of work. The Falcons also used two hits by Nick Gonzales and a RBI double by Gavin Smith to prevail. Bawiec and reliever Mike Wealand held Penn Manor to three hits.
Garden Spot 11, Elco 10: The Raiders smashed four home runs and charged 13 hits in all, but Garden Spot's lone run in the bottom of the eighth was the difference. Adam Shoemaker slammed a pair of home runs while Cody Horst and Jacob Stager added round-trippers in the loss.
Solanco 11, Lebanon 7: Solanco dismissed five combined RBIs by the Lebanon duo of Brycen Loeper and Wes Dissinger by scoring five runs in the top of the eighth inning. Loeper and Dissinger did their damage on just one hit apiece before Zach Leonard (three runs, two RBIs) and Solanco hit another gear in extra innings. Matt McCarriston earned the win in relief of Harrison Ault.
Annville-Cleona 6, Pequea Valley 4: Daultyn Kline's two-run, sixth-inning double, coupled with Braden Elliott's run-scoring double, staked Annville-Cleona that two-run advantage. Earlier, it was Nat Hughes pacing the A-C offense, nailing a two-run homer in the first.
