Trinity returned home to COBO Field and prevailed over cross-town rival Cumberland Valley 12-6 in a boys' lacrosse game Monday.
On a warm spring night for lacrosse, the Shamrocks showed off their leadership and youth in this Mid-Penn matchup.
Half of Trinity's goals came from sophmores John Miller (3 goals, 1 assist) , Mark Hergenroeder (2 goals) and freshman Griffin Smith (1 goal).
The upperclassmen also contibuted with junior Connor Bailey (3 goals) and seniors Mike Kelly (1 goal, 1 assist) and Dave Hergenroeder (2 goals).
"We really played our game tonight " the elder Hergenroeder said. "We learned some things that we needed to do after last week's loss to Exeter. The defense was great at clearing and that made it so much easier for us to score."
Cumberland Valley's attack men kept the Shamrocks' defense on alert with goals from Tom Lehman, Logan Kane, Rod Jamison and Logan Fazakerley as well as from midfielders Brady Bowman and Nick Zumbrum.
But none were able to get more than one goal against the stingy defense.
Freshman Goalie Nick Brown had nine saves for Cumberland Valley.
