Colleen Troutman of Upper Dauphin said that she was really focusing on the 100 and 400-meter races at the Tri-Valley girls' track and field meet on Thursday afternoon.
With that focus, she was able to set new meet records in both of those events.
But she was also running in the 200, and for good measure, she won that event too.
It all added up to Troutman taking the Girls' Track MVP for the meet.
"I was looking to do really well in the 100 and 400 because those are the events I'm looking to to best in the postseason meets," Troutman said. "Mostly the 400."
Troutman ran a 1:00.55 in the 400, breaking the old record by 0.15 seconds.
She reset her own meet record in the 100 with a 12.75. She had a 12.77 last spring.
"My start in the 400 was very good, but my start in the 100 was really good," Troutman said. "The official was quick to call 'set', and that got in my head a little bit."
In the 200, Troutman ran a 26.88, short of her own meet record by 0.33 seconds.
Upper Dauphin's only other winner was by Rachel Harner, who won the 3200 in 12:50.23.
Juniata had two winners. Lexie Zimmerman won the pole vault with an 8-0, and Rachel Brown took the triple jump with a 33-1 1/2.
