With four teams running down the home stretch of the 4x400-meter relay, the final event of the day, the girls' team title of the Tri-Valley Track and Field Meet was still in doubt.

Millersburg led Greenwood by six points with 17 of the 18 events competed. But Greenwood still had a chance if it won the 4x400.

And the Wildcats did win the event, with anchor leg runner Jordyn Sorber coming from behind to surpass Juniata for a first place finish and a new meet-record time of 4:14.06. Juniata finished with a 4:14.68.

But that wasn't enough. Millersburg had to finish fourth just for the teams to tie for the team title. But during that stretch run, Upper Dauphin surpassed Millersburg for third place. Upper Dauphin's time was 4:15.84, and Millersburg's was 4:16.40.

After those four teams had crossed the finish line, all with times better than the previous meet record, Greenwood and Millersburg had tied for the girls' team title with 101 points.

Emily Black, Jennifer Campbell and Hattie Kuhns also ran for Greenwood in the 4x400.

Greenwood and Millersburg each won six events. All six of Millersburg's wins were on the track. Five of Greenwood's six wins were in the field.

Emily Fisher was named the MVP of the girls' field events for the Wildcats. She won the shot with a 35-1 3/4, and took the discus with a 115-8.

Sierra Stephens completed the Greenwood sweep in the throwing events with a 114-2 in the javelin.

Campbell won the high jump with a 4-10, and Erin Zeiders took the long jump with a 15-0 1/2.

Millersburg's Kayla Kelley won both hurdle races. She posted a 16.50 in the 100 and a 49.15 in the 300.

Taylor Miller took the 800 with a meet record 2:24.80. Tori Fulkroacd claimed the 1600 in 5:50.83.

Millersburg also won the 4x100 and 4x800 relays.

In the 4x100, Madison Bingaman, Krissy Kelley, Kayla Kelley and Kylee Sorichetti combined for a 53.11.

In the 4x800, Emily Miller, Taylor Miller, Fulkroad and Krissy Kelley put together a 9:59.35.

Greenwood had won the last six Tri-Valley Meet titles and 12 of the last 13 outright. Millersburg, who was undefeated in Tri-Valley dual meets this spring, has not won the meet title outright this century.
