Through three weeks of the high school football season we've noticed this trend: they really dig their football team in Mechanicsburg. This time, the Wildcats faithful voted early and often, securing a place for wide receiver Swahneek Brown to be named our Pennlive.com Week 3 Superstar.
Brown, of course, did his part in a wild 48-minute scuffle against Northern. The 6-2, 160-pound senior finished with six receptions for 132 yards and two touchdowns as Mechanicsburg (3-0) claimed a 24-21 victory over the Polar Bears at hostile Bostic Field.
Of the 7,332 votes cast, Brown secured better than 55-percent (4,079) of the vote. Hershey running back Jailen Harmon was a distant second with 2,457 votes. For the season, Brown has totaled nearly 260 receiving yards on 13 grabs.
