Gini Bramley verbally committed to play field hockey at Penn State on Wednesday, making her the eighth starter on Lower Dauphin's state championship team to commit to a Division I program.

Bramley, a junior center back who could also take midfield duties, had eight goals and six assists this season. Among her goals was the game-winner in a 2-1 victory over Warwick in the District 3-AAA championship game.

Bramley also scored in the 2012 PIAA Class AAA final.

"The reasons why I picked PSU are because the field hockey program has an amazing coaching staff, I love the college atmosphere and campus, and it's close to home so I can see my family often," Bramley said.

When she gets to PSU in the fall of 2015, there should be some familiar faces there. Teammate Delani Higgins will be in a Nittany Lions uniform next fall, and Mid-Penn Keystone Division rival Katie Dembrowski of Palmyra will also be arriving in State College in 2015.

Other Falcons who were starters on this year's state championship team who have committed to Division I schools include seniors Maggie Mostoller (Brown), Anna Smuda (California), Taylor Lister (Delaware) and Devyn Barry (Lock Haven). Juniors Morgan Bitting (Duke) and Abby Julius (Louisville) have also given their verbal commitments.

Bramley, along with Bitting, Barry and Lister, were first-team members of the PennLive field hockey all-star team.
