Live HS boys’ volleyball roundup: Tuesday, March 25

The inclement weather scared away most of Tuesday’s high school athletic events, but the first full night of boys’ volleyball action is continuing as planned.

I will be checking out opening action as Red Land visits West Shore sister school Cedar Cliff.

Note: Game reports will be added as we receive them, so refresh often. The night’s top performers will also be listed at the bottom of the post later in the evening.

LANCASTER-LEBANON SECTION 1 - Standings

Ephrata 3, Cedar Crest 2: Ephrata and Cedar Crest opened their seasons with a real barn burner. Nick Farlow recorded 22 kills as Ephrata won 25-20, 15-25, 25-22, 23-25, 15-6. Alex Modrzecki dished out 35 assists and picked up 22 digs. Zach Livering and James Mackie led Crest with 11 kills each. John Krall had 20 digs and Ross Sattahahn had 13 blocks.  » Box Score

Hempfield 3, Warwick 1: Defending District 3-AAA champion Hempfield were tested by Warwick, thanks to 15 kills from Jon Gonzales. Black Knights' Ben Naumann offset that with 23 kills and Colton Frey picked up 14 digs. » Box Score

Central Dauphin 3, State College 0: The match went the minimum number of games, but each one was close, with the Rams winning 25-22, 31-29, 25-19. Mahlon Bender led the way with 10 kills and six blocks, but was followed closely by Matt Peron (9) and Tim Callahan (8). Jacob Kerschner dished out 25 assists and Callahan added seven digs. » Box Score
