Outlook: The Lions have a strong cast of returning players from last year’s squad that made it all the way to the PIAA Class AA quarterfinals before losing to Holy Ghost Prep. This year, they’re moving down to Class A and should be a contender once again. Senior goalie Marshall Merwine recorded 10 shutouts last year and will be a force in the net. Coach Bob Hartman said the scoring should be more even this year with multiple scoring threats like McCambridge, Brown and Lozano. Moravian also gets back junior Tanner Shane, who spent last year playing with the Philadelphia Union U-16 Academy.
From coach Hartman: “We’re looking strong. I think as long as we stay healthy, our expectations are every high. There’s no reason why we shouldn’t do as well or better than we did last year.”
