Healthy and available, Jack Miller's (far right) presence on the floor makes Lower Dauphin dangerous every night out. - (CHRIS KNIGHT, The Patriot-News)

LOWER DAUPHIN FALCONS

District and PIAA classification: 3-AAAA

Projected Mid-Penn Keystone finish: 8th.

Coach: Mark Hofsass.

2011-12 record: 11-11 (4-8, 4th in Keystone). Did not qualify for postseason play.

Top players: Jack Miller (6-4 sr F), Kaylor Kulina (5-10 jr G), Ryan Naccarato (6-3 jr G/F), Tommy Bowen (6-4 so F), Matt Seip (6-4 so F), Luke Rutledge (5-9 jr PG), Colten Nagy (6-0 jr G/F).

The big picture: Hard to gauge how Hofsass’ youngsters will fare — particularly early — but Miller’s rugged presence in the paint and on the boards should make things easier as the new guys settle in. Unavailable when last season began due to a football injury, once Miller stepped on the floor the well-prepared Falcons became more consistent and much more potent. Although young, this promising group is more athletic than some of its predecessors, making Hummelstown a dangerous, dangerous stop.
