Mechanicsburg's Joey Krulock kicked off his season on a good note by capturing the 170-pound bracket in the Cumberland Valley Kickoff Classic.
But it wasn't easy.
The Wildcats senior, a seventh-place medalist in last year's PIAA Wrestling Championships, needed overtime to defeat Wilson's Andrew Francos 7-5 in the finals.
Trailing 5-4, Krulock escaped to start the third. After a scoreless sudden victory segment, the Wildcats stud scored two near-fall points and held on to earn first-place honors.
Krulock talked about his victory and the upcoming season after the match.
