NEFFSVILLE - You know the names.
Diante Cherry. Devonne Pinkard. Aaron Swinton.
And Keyon Cowan has made a name for himself this winter, as well.
But you might not know McCaskey's fifth starter off the top of your head.
But you should.
Senior forward Sha-Ki Staten has had a standout season for the Red Tornado.
He came into Friday's league championship game against Cedar Crest averaging 12.3 points per game.
He crashes the boards. He scores in transition. He can step back and hit a mid-range jumper. And, most importantly, he can defend the heck out of someone's top scoring guard or small forward.
Staten was draped all over Cedar Crest's Clay Penchard on Friday night; he held the Falcons' dribble-driver to 7 points - his lowest outing since January 18. And two of Penchard's buckets came late in the fourth quarter, when the game was long since decided.
McCaskey, which trailed at the half, won 62-41 to capture its second league title in a row and 13th overall.

Staten is known to his teammates as the lockdown guy, and Staten did that once again in the league finale. He also chipped in with 10 points and grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds to help the cause.
Chatted with Staten after the game about the victory, about McCaskey's run and success, and about his abilities, including his role as the lockdown guy. Take a look.
